Cambridgeshire is a powerhouse of the UK economy, with world-leading innovation in high-technology, life-sciences, medicine, engineering, manufacturing and agriculture. Home to one of the great universities of the world, Cambridgeshire is rich with historic towns and cities barely rising above sea-level in the unique fenland landscape.
Cambridgeshire is also remarkably diverse, with extremes of social and economic well-being, sometimes in challengingly close proximity. The Lieutenancy is particularly alive to these inequalities, which inform much of its work to improve social mobility and create opportunities for all.
The Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Mrs Julie Spence OBE CStJ QPM, is His Majesty The King’s representative in the County. She leads the Lieutenancy, which helps foster good relations and co-operation between all kinds of organisation in every part of the County. Take a look at these pages to find out about the work of the Lieutenancy, and how we can help you.
