On Friday 16th October at Great St Mary’s Church in Cambridge, The Lord-Lieutenant presented Mr Julian Pell-Coggins with the British Empire Medal, for, for services to Young People in Enfield.
PC Pell-Coggins has been the co-ordinator of the volunteer police cadets in Enfield (Enfield VPC) for the past seven years. Under his watch it has risen from being a fairly underused service with around 45 cadets to a thriving division of more than 200 young people – some of whom are looked after children or have been referred to him by social services.
The Lord-Lieutenant was assisted by Colonel Roger Herriot OBE DL and Ms Lily Bacon DL, and the citation was read by the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Brigadier Tim Seal TD ADC DL VR. The Mayor of Cambridge, Councillor Russ McPherson was present, and the Revd Canon Adrian Daffern extended a warm welcome to the church.
