HRH The Princess Royal visits Peterborough

On Friday 20th September, the Beef Shorthorn Cattle Society welcomed their patron, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, to a Members’ Development Day at Pode Hole Farm in Thorney, Peterborough.

Her Royal Highness met the finalists of the National Herd Award 2024 and presented the winner with their trophy, as well as awarding the 6 runners up with their awards, before addressing those in attendance.

Her Royal Highness then took a tour of the Development Day workshops taking place across the farm whilst escorted by Mr Charles Horrell (owner of the farm) and Dr Tim Riley (President of the Beef Shorthorn Cattle Society).

The visit was concluded with Her Royal Highness planting a tree to commemorate the visit in the Grass Paddock, watched by members of staff and family from the farm.
