Visits by members of the Royal Family to Cambridgeshire originate in many ways, such as:
Anyone may extend an invitation to a member of the Royal Family. In all cases, it is best if the invitation is submitted to the Lieutenancy office, for onward transmission to the Royal Household. It is not necessary to specify a particular member of the Royal Family. If the invitation is accepted the Lord-Lieutenant will then liaise with the Private Office of the prospective Royal Visitor and the host organisation. Once a date has been agreed, the Lieutenancy office will then support and guide the host organisation and ensure that the visit runs smoothly and is enjoyed by everyone.
The number of requests far exceeds what is possible, and there is no certainty that an invitation will be accepted.
Please contact the Lieutenancy office in the first instance.
